Don’t you love award shows? Admittedly, I watch them primarily for the fashion. Just in case you missed it, Reese Witherspoon looked fantastic in her sapphire blue gown. Simple. modern and confident, as did Kate Winslet. Kudos to Sandra Bullock in a strapless amethyst gown. Marion Cotilliard was definitely in a Parisian designer gown, trickier but it worked on her. What wouldn’t! Jewel tones rocked the red carpet. Not sure what Tina Fey was wearing, but Penelope Cruz looked stunning in the black Spanish lace number. Kate Hudson’s white Marchesa gown worked beautiful on her. Mariah, can you put those things away? Oh, and Julia, did you forget where you were going? If you are going to wear a short dress, it had better be more elaborate…Beaded or taffeta in an important silhouette.
The nude/peach tones that are abundant this season, were seen on Drew Barrymore, Heidi Klum, Christina Hendricks, and Chloe Sevigny to name but a few. One shoulder column gowns and strapless gowns were the key silhouettes, with flourishes of ruffles!
